Ben Shalom Bernanke was born on December 13, 1953. As of 2022, Ben is 68 years of age. Ben Bernanke is a known American economist. Ben served as the 14th chairman of the Federal Reserve from the year 2006 to the year 2014. When Ben left the Federal Reserve, he had an appointment as a distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institution. When Ben was a teenager, he worked construction at a hospital and as well waited tables at a restaurant nearby South of the border. Ben also worked with roadside attractions, amusement parks and fireworks retailers, near his hometown in Hamer South Carolina. It was after these couple of work experiences that Ben left for college.
Bernanke after leaving the Fed, wrote about his time as chairman of the Federal Reserve in his 2015 book titled The Courage to Act. In that book, Ben revealed that the world’s economy came close to collapse in the years 2007 and 2008. He stated, that it was only the novel efforts of the Fed that prevented an economic catastrophe greater than the Great Depression. Ben is now one of the top US Economists.
