Daniel Allen Campbell, better known by his stage handle “MCDC,” was a tight end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League before becoming a coach. Campbell was born on April 13, 1976. (NFL).

Campbell was a tight end and tailback for Glen Rose High School. Clifton, Texas was his birthplace.

Campbell and his wife Holly have two children. Campbell’s Texas A&M roommate Shane Lechler nicknamed him “Dantallica” since he is a big Metallica fan. He also likes country and vintage rock music.

Throughout his playing career, he was dubbed “The Dude” due to his similarity to the character played by Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski.

In addition, from 2016 to 2020, he was the New Orleans Saints’ associate head coach and tight ends coach. From 2010 until 2015, he was a Miami Dolphins assistant coach, most notably as interim head coach and tight ends coach.

Campbell attended Texas A&M University for his college football career. In the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft, he was chosen by the New York Giants. He later played in NFL games with the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys.
