Ješić, who was born in Oseenica, played for Partizan from 1974 to 1985, taking part in 342 matches and scoring 81 goals across all competitions. He made 136 appearances for Altay SK between 1985 and 1989, scoring 29 goals. From 1989 to 1990, he played for Trabzonspor, making 37 appearances and scoring nine goals.

Ješić was despised by Fenerbahçe supporters as a result of his apparent role in Ridvan Dilmen’s injury sustained in 1990 during a league game between Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor. When Ješić began managing in 1993, he took FK Obili to the Yugoslav Cup final. He eventually served as the head coach of two Serbian teams, including his native Partizan and OFK Beograd, the latter of which set a club record by scoring 111 goals in a single campaign. Additionally, he won UEFA Champions League qualifying matches against Flora and Rijeka.
