Colombo, Sep 28 (IANS) Something like 80 houses were obliterated because of a fire that broke out in an exceptionally crowded region in Colombo, with around 220 individuals dislodged, Sri Lankan police said on Wednesday.

The fire broke out at the Kajeemawatte Pads in Thotalanga at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday night and it took firemen a few hours to fix the blast, reports Xinhua news office.

Twelve fire engines were squeezed into administration.

No setbacks were accounted for in the episode, and those impacted are housed in public venues and spots of love.

The police are yet to decide the reason for the fire and the all out property harm has not been assessed.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe educated his Secretary Saman Ekanayake to do whatever it may take to give prompt help to every one individuals impacted by the fire.
