Nambi Narayanan is an Indian aeronautical engineer. He was employed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and made a significant contribution to the country’s space program by creating the Vikas rocket engine. He was in charge of the group that worked to acquire French technology for use in the Vikas engine, which powered India’s first PSLV.

Through the bench of Dipak Misra, the Supreme Court granted Narayanan a compensation of 50,000 in 2018. He also received an additional 1.3 crore from the Keralan government. Narayanan’s life was the subject of the movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which was released in July 2022 and starred and was directed by R Madhavan.
