Examiner Maurizio de Lucia reported on Monday that Matteo Messina Denaro, one of the supervisors of the Cosa Nostra Mafia in Sicily and Italy’s most needed man, was captured by police while getting treatment at a confidential wellbeing center in Palermo.

As per de Lucia’s CNN report, the outlaw had been on the run beginning around 1993 and was one of Europol’s main concerns. Lamberto Giannini, Italy’s head of police, gave an assertion lauding the Carabinieri, Italy’s tactical police, and the Palermo Public Examiner’s Office for their endeavors in catching the risky outlaw.

The capture was hailed as a “triumph” for Italy by government authorities, who shared their delight on Twitter. An extraordinary triumph for the state which shows it doesn’t surrender in that frame of mind of the Mafia,” Head of the state Giorgia Meloni tweeted. This capture is “an indication of an express that successes against Mafia,” Safeguard Priest Guido Crosetto said.

Denaro is accepted to be answerable for many Mafia-related murders. He was condemned to life in jail in 1992 for his job in the passings of hostile to Mafia examiners Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.

Diabolik is one of the presumptive successors to Bernardo Provenzano, who was captured in April 2006 beyond Corleone, Sicily. A group from the counter Mafia Carabinieri directed a strike before sunrise and arrested him. The examiner guaranteed that a manhunt was sent off after a potential locating of him in September 2021.
