Bengaluru, Oct 9 (IANS) A Karnataka cop has been captured on charges of saving Rs 10 lakh for himself while holding onto Rs 50 lakh in Bengaluru, police said on Sunday.

The cop has been recognized as Mahendra Gowda, a head constable joined to the Chandra Format police headquarters. As indicated by the police, the blamed perpetrated the wrongdoing during his watching obligation.

The held onto cash had a place with Lingesh, a realtor and rancher from Ramapura town in Channapatna town. He let police know that according to his companion’s recommendation he had brought the cash, which was in the category of Rs 2,000 notes to the city to trade in more modest group.

His companion, Dinesh, had informed him that Rs 2,000 cash notes would be restricted and encouraged him to change the division to Rs 500 for a 10 percent commission, police said.
