The shooting occurrence prompted a rapid pursuit when specialists detected the culprits and sought after them for no less than 30 miles east of Missoula, where a shootout resulted. Marshall Barrus was lethally shot while Lloyd was captured. He was ultimately charged and indicted for the wrongdoing.
