Nick Chubb’s injury’s slow motion video goes viral as fans replay moment Browns RB’s body flipped

The slow-motion video of Nick Chubb, the Cleveland Browns’ running back, getting injured during Monday Night Football on September 18, has gone viral.

Browns were playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers when Chubb took a handoff from quarterback Deshaun Watson, at the 8-yard line, getting hit low at the 4-yard line by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Chubb’s left knee appeared to bend sideways as he fell to the ground.

The action was caught in a slow-motion video which went viral on the internet. Here it is:

Fans took to social media to comment on how Chubb was directly hit in the knee which caused him to flip. He writhed in pain, brushing off teammates as they offered to help him up.

The RB was carted off the field after suffering a knee injury that is expected to sideline him for the rest of the season. After Browns lost 26-22 to the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium, the team’s coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed the news to reporters that Chubb will likely not make a comeback for the rest of the season. He called the knee injury significant.

“We feel, obviously, for Nick,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “But I know Nick and his teammates know, and you have to move on.”

“It (freaking) hurts,” defensive end Myles Garrett said after the game. It is more than likely that Chubb suffered multiple torn ligaments. “He’s a man of few words who just keeps his head down and he’s always working. And that’s the integrity he has for the game. That’s what we hope to have now, especially for him.”

Chubbs previously suffered a dislocated left knee and tore his MCL, PCL, and LCL in 2015 when he played his sophomore season at Georgia.

Initially, ESPN did not show a replay of the moment Chubbs was injured during the game. Nevertheless, sports commentator Joe Buck relayed to the viewers back home that the crowd at Heinz Field audibly gasped upon seeing the play on the video board.

The Steelers crowd also chanted Chubb’s name as he was taken off the field on the medical cart. the replacement for Chubb was Jerome Ford, who quickly took a three-yard pass from Watson for a touchdown. He then ran in a two-point conversion to make it an 11-7 game in the second quarter.
