Caracas, Sep 27 (IANS) The boundary among Venezuela and Colombia has officially returned, after a representative demonstration drove by Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Venezuelan clergymen at the Simon Bolivar Extension connecting the two nations.

Petro said on Monday that he trusted the returning would help the inhabitants on each side, who for quite a long time needed to gamble elapsing through unapproved intersections, reports Xinhua news office.

After the service, trucks with stock started to cross the boundary, with aluminum material from Venezuela and a shipment of drugs from Colombia.

Prior, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro remarked on his Twitter account that “firm advances were taken to progress in the aggregate and outright opening of the line between brotherly people groups: Colombia and Venezuela. It is a notable and supernatural day!”

Recently, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had declared that departures from Caracas and the northern city of Valencia to Colombia’s capital Bogota will likewise continue.

Since Petro got to work in Colombia, Caracas and Bogota have logically progressed in normalizing ties cut off in 2019 by his ancestor Ivan Duque.
