Prayar Gopalakrishnan (20 September 1949 – 4 June 2022) was a Kollam-based Indian National Congress politician.
He was the Travancore Devaswom Board’s president. He is a Kerala MLA and a member of the KPCC.
Prayar’s political career began with the Kerala Students Union.
He was the Kollam district president of the KSU and a member of the youth congress.
In 2001, he was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Chadayamangalam constituency.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala both expressed their condolences following the death of Gopalakrishnan.
In his sympathy letter, Vijayan stated that Gopalakrishnan has led MILMA and the TDB for a long time.
“His death is a tremendous loss for the Congress party.
” In his message, Congress leader Chennithala said, “It was Gopalakrishnan who made MILMA one of the proudest institutions in the cooperative sector of the state.”
