Robert Chadwick Berry was an American professional football player, who played quarterback for the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons. He was born on March 10, 1942. In 1969, he was chosen for one Pro Bowl, as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. In the middle of 1970, Berry played for the Minnesota Vikings and was a part of three Super Bowl teams.
Berry was known for setting a number of franchise records and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1970. After leaving the Falcons, Berry played one season with the Minnesota Vikings before retiring in 1975.
He finished his NFL career with 8,489 passing yards, 55 touchdowns, and 69 interceptions. Following his playing career, Berry went on to work as a coach and broadcaster.
He coached at the high school and college levels, including a stint as the head coach at the University of Puget Sound. He also worked as a color commentator for NFL games on CBS and NBC.
