Miodrag Ješić came through the ranks as a kid and went on to have a career few of his contemporaries would have dreamed of having. He was a workaholic who had an insane drive for winning whenever he stepped on the pitch as a player and later as a coach, a drive which earned him a nickname as ‘Ješić the Butcher’ because he simply was a hard fellow.
Miodrag Ješić was born in 1957 on November 30th in Serbia, Osecenica and started playing from a young age before making his first professional appearance in 1974 with Partizan where he played for 11 seasons before moving to Altay SK in Turkey. His was a long career with over 100 goals in close to 525 appearances for both clubs and country.
After retiring in 1990, he would three years later go into coaching and remained in management until his last but short job in Saudi Arabia with Al-shoulla.
What Is Miodrag Ješić Known For?
Miodrag Ješić is best known for his physical approach to the game and his title-winning Bulgarian side of CSKA Sofia which also recorded a famous win over Liverpool in the Champions League whilst being voted the ‘Best coach’ in the Bulgarian 2004/2005 league season.
