Bobby participated in junior hockey games for the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1952 to 1956, when he won the Memorial Cup in 1955 and 1956.
After turning pro, he spent most of the 1956-1957 season with the Rochester Americans, an American Hockey League team affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bobby would only play in minor league games from then on.
Bobby was called up to the Leafs during the season and spent the next 11 seasons with Toronto, winning the Stanley Cup in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967.
